We are seeking an experienced fundraising professional to help strengthen our donor stewardship and major gift strategy.

Our goal is to improve donor retention, deepen donor relationships, and create a sustainable system for engaging supporters throughout the year.

Project Deliverables

• Assess current donor stewardship practices
• Develop a donor stewardship calendar
• Create donor journey maps for key donor segments
• Recommend major donor cultivation strategies
• Develop donor communication touchpoint recommendations
• Create templates for stewardship outreach
• Identify opportunities to increase recurring giving

Time Commitment: 2 to 5 hours per week over 6 to 8 weeks.

Every dollar raised by Maya's Hope directly impacts a child facing extraordinary challenges.

The children we serve are not statistics. They are children waiting for life-saving surgeries, children with disabilities who need ongoing therapy, students who dream of staying in school, and families struggling to meet basic needs in the Philippines and Ukraine.

Strong donor stewardship is critical to sustaining this work. By helping us build meaningful relationships with donors, improve retention, and strengthen major gift engagement, this project will create a lasting impact far beyond a single fundraising campaign.

A successful donor stewardship strategy will help Maya's Hope generate more consistent funding, allowing us to say "yes" to more children in need. It will help ensure that families are not left waiting for urgent medical care because funding is unavailable and that children with disabilities can continue receiving the therapies and support they depend on.

The volunteer who takes on this project will play a direct role in helping vulnerable children access surgeries, therapy, education, mobility equipment, emergency assistance, and other life-changing services. Their expertise will help strengthen the foundation that makes all of this work possible.

Simply put, better donor relationships mean more children helped, more lives changed, and more hope for families who have nowhere else to turn.

Maya's Hope is well-positioned to make this project successful and implement the volunteer's recommendations.

Our leadership team and Board of Directors recognize the importance of strengthening donor stewardship and increasing donor retention as key priorities for the organization. We have already secured internal support for this project and are committed to dedicating the time necessary to collaborate effectively with the volunteer.

We can provide access to a variety of materials, including donor communications, annual reports, impact reports, fundraising campaigns, sponsorship materials, donor data reports, and examples of current stewardship practices. We also have a donor database and established fundraising processes that can be reviewed as part of this project.

The Executive Director, who is responsible for donor cultivation and fundraising, will serve as the primary point of contact and will be available for regular meetings, feedback, and decision-making throughout the engagement.

The recommendations developed through this project will be implemented directly by our team and incorporated into our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. We anticipate using the resulting stewardship calendar, donor journey maps, communication templates, and cultivation strategies to improve donor retention, deepen relationships with supporters, grow recurring giving, and strengthen major donor engagement over the long term.

Ultimately, this project will help Maya's Hope build a more sustainable fundraising infrastructure so we can continue providing life-saving support to vulnerable children in Ukraine and the Philippines.
