Our CEO is retiring within the next ten months. We are looking for help in structuring the transition effectively, documenting both institutional knowledge transfer and process documentation that will result in a transition handbook to be given to the incoming replacement. We’re looking for a skilled volunteer who has experience with leadership change management who can help us develop a strategy for capture and documentation.

During our 60 minutes together, we’d like the volunteer to help us:
-Begin to brainstorm a transition strategy for rollout over the next 9 months
-Evaluate whether AI is appropriate for our specific use case, team size, and context
-Identify any data privacy, security, or ethical considerations we should be aware of before moving forward
-Define clear boundaries for how the tools should be used — including where human review and oversight need to stay in place
-Leave with 2–3 concrete, practical recommendations we can act on immediately

We’ll come to the session with a specific use case in mind, relevant context about the transition and the communities we serve, and any questions our team has raised. We want to move forward with confidence — not caution for its own sake, but with the human in the loop where it matters most.

Organization Mission

Over the past two decades, Island Housing Trust has grown from a small community driven initiative into a leading nonprofit developer and long-term steward of permanently affordable homes. Today, with 174 completed homes and 140 more in the development pipeline, our mission has expanded in both scale and scope. Our 2030 goals build on our solid foundation. We’ll strengthen our core housing development work while deepening our commitment to stewardship, environmental sustainability, community engagement, advocacy, and long-term financial resilience.
