We need a volunteer to review our 2025 revenue streams and advise how to classify items such as auction donations versus purchases, and event ticket sales, so we can complete state registration questions that expect reporting like a full or EZ 990 (we currently file a 990-N). We'll provide descriptions of each revenue type and the state questions during the session. The volunteer should explain classification principles, common accounting treatments for each revenue type, and recommended next steps; specific details can be discussed in-session.

Organization Mission

Restore Hope’s mission is to build relationships with women experiencing homelessness, providing them with resource connections while working to discover and address the underlying causes of their situation. We believe each woman has a unique situation; we work with them to identify personal goals and then provide support and encouragement as they work to reach those goals. This support takes many forms such as resume building/interview prep, providing clothing for job interviews, assistance filling out applications, transportation to appointments/interviews and more. We know we do not have all the answers but we will figure it out together. Our programs include: - Food distribution events: Once a month we distribute sack lunch/snack bags at Harriet Tubman Women's Shelter in Washington, DC and build community with the residents - Mentorship Program: Volunteer mentors work one-on-one with a woman to provide friendship and support as she is taking steps toward her goals - Resource Database: Our online resource database allows women in NYC and Washington, DC to find organizations offering services such as shelter, food, medical care, and more.
