Advice on Retaining an Employee Moving Out of State (Cost and Compliance Review)

We need a volunteer to advise our small Pennsylvania nonprofit on what is involved in potentially retaining an employee who is relocating to Wisconsin. The volunteer should review major compliance and cost implications we should consider (state payroll tax and withholding, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation, benefits administration, employer registration/nexus, and any HR policy or classification impacts) and possibly discuss alternative staffing structures under consideration. This session can include talking about how to deal with another employee that is not performing role as well. Current payroll is done through Gusto, but our w2's and elsewhere Open Up is listed as the employer and with our PA address. Other details (current payroll setup, benefits, and classification) can be provided during the session.
