Advice on Securing Grant Funding

Our goal for this Taproot Plus Session is to gain clear, practical guidance on how to secure grant funding as a newly formed nonprofit and to understand the best grant strategy for our current stage. We want to learn where to find grants that are appropriate for early-stage nonprofits, which opportunities we are realistically eligible for now versus later, and what funders typically expect in a strong grant application. We also want advice on whether it makes sense to hire a grant writer, use volunteer support, or build internal capacity, and how to do this in a cost-effective way. We are an early-stage organization, and our goal for this session is not to write a full grant but to walk away with a clear roadmap for grant readiness, research, and next steps over the next few months.
