Database specialists: We need a skilled database programmer or manager to create the "data model" for a new publishing contracts database for our arts organization. In this 4-5 week project you will work with key staffers to create the framework of a database which Escape Artists Foundation will use for many years.

Escape Artists Foundation is almost twenty years old, and we publish over 200 short fiction podcasts each year. We pay market rates to our authors and have millions of downloads.

But we manage our contract processes with spreadsheets! We need your professional skills to guide the creation of a publishing contracts database. This contracts database will improve the back-office performance of our international arts organization.

We have completed the discovery phase of this project and need your professional help creating a "data model". Once we have this data model we will seek a pro bono programmer to create the database. We are seeking a budget for ongoing maintenance once the database is created.

We are also using the creation of this database to guide future data management projects for podcast production and fundraising.

"One Story, Told Well." Escape Artists podcasts free, audio speculative short fiction to a global audience & builds a community of people who love to create & appreciate science fiction, fantasy, horror, and young adult fiction. We create original, award-winning free weekly audio fiction. We publish four free weekly genre short fiction podcasts, a monthly bonus show, work with partners to publish print and digital anthologies, and support our teams creating video content on Twitch. We publish over 200 stories every year, each and every one available for free digitally and in audio, distributed under the Creative Commons license. Our Values - Compensate the Creative — ‘Exposure’ is a cause of death, not a way to pay bills. Artists deserve to be paid for their work. - Widen the Circle — Genre fiction has a representation problem. We’re helping correct it. - Audio Short Fiction Advocates — We think audio short stories are the perfect solution to the self-care crunch, offering a unique and immersive way to incorporation fiction in our daily lives.
