High-Level Advice for Approaching Strategic Planning

We are seeking high-level support in preparing for our strategic planning process. Our nonprofit is dedicated to supporting, equipping, and encouraging local and international communities of color through connection to internal and external resources.

As we plan for this strategy, we'd like volunteers' advice on the following:
- How to outline the key components of a strategic plan tailored for a small but growing nonprofit.
- Identifying priority goals for the next 2–3 years that align with our mission and programs.
- Brainstorming approaches for stakeholder engagement (board, partners, youth, and families) in the planning process.
- Advice on realistic milestones and metrics that can guide program growth and sustainability.
- Recommendations on tools/templates we could use to move from ideas to an actionable written plan.

Context: LPV is in a phase of growth, expanding youth programming (through Pura Vida Youth), community partnerships, and international initiatives. While the vision is clear, we do not yet have a formalized strategic plan. Having outside expertise to guide the structure and planning process will help us prioritize, strengthen our organizational capacity, and prepare for long-term sustainability.
