Advice on Improving our Website Look and Feel

The goal for this Taproot Plus session is to get guidance on how to improve our website from its current amateur state into a professional resource that supports our mission. We want the site to serve three key purposes:

Community Information/Resource – A place where families, partners, and the community can easily access clear, well organized information and downloadable materials.

Marketing tool – A site that reflects our brand, communicates impact, and helps us engage new donors, volunteers, and partners.

Educational hub – A platform that explains our mission in a compelling way and helps people understand the importance of our work.

During the session, we would like to brainstorm with a volunteer about:
• How to structure content so the site is both functional and engaging.
• What design and navigation choices can help us stand out among nonprofits.
• How to prioritize features like donation pages, sign ups, and program resources.
• Steps we should take to move from our current site to a polished version that is sustainable to maintain.

We would also appreciate feedback on how other nonprofits have successfully used their websites as both outreach and educational tools. This will help us define a roadmap for professionalizing our online presence and ensuring our site supports growth in all areas of our work.
