We are a small nonprofit that has historically qualified to file the 990-EZ. We believe continuing to file the EZ Form is limiting our ability to apply for certain grants. We need to confirm whether we can or should file the full Form 990 for the 2026 tax year and make sure we have the necessary receipts and supporting documents available when it is time to file.
We are looking for a volunteer with nonprofit tax preparation or CPA expertise to guide our team through preparing the 2026 Form 990. The volunteer will:- Review our current financial records and identify any missing receipts, transaction documentation, or other supporting materials required to complete Form 990; provide a prioritized checklist of documents to gather.- Provide clear, written guidance and a step-by-step checklist for preparing and submitting the 2026 Form 990, including an assessment of whether filing 990-EZ remains appropriate for our situation.- Be available to assist remotely with preparing or filing the Form 990 during tax season if we request help, and answer follow-up questions about documentation.

To empower and encourage women and girls of color to believe that they have a voice and that what they have to say and how they feel matters. We provide a variety of services from mentoring to enrichment workshops to enhance communication skills, build self-confidence, and level the playing field so they have the tools they need to succeed in school and in the workplace. We also provide free journals and encourage them to use the journal as a tool to organize their thoughts and as a safe space to write about how they feel in a world that doesn't always value the thoughts and feelings of women and girls and particularly women and girls of color.
