2020 Nonprofit Resiliency Survey: Key Takeaways

The past year has challenged us all in ways we never expected. Yet through it all, we’ve been able turn to nonprofits for support.
Social change organizations are leading rebuilding and recovery efforts around the globe, and they’re doing so while confronting massive shifts in volunteer support, service delivery, and fundraising. In the summer of 2020, Taproot Foundation conducted a nonprofit survey on how the COVID-19 pandemic affected their operations, programmatic work, and fundraising ability. We heard from respondents across 11 countries—working in a wide range of issue areas—who reflected on their immediate crisis–response needs. Respondents also shared what resources or support their nonprofits required to continue providing critical services to community members in the 6-12 months following the outset of the pandemic. These are the key takeaways from that survey.
