Enriching Young Minds is preparing to launch Young Black Girls in Business in Detroit. Our workshop plan is developed, but our first class has not taken place. The proposed first cohort will include 25 children ages 6 through 16. Twelve weekly workshops will cover business ideas, pricing and budgeting, communication and creative activities such as vision boards. The series will close with the Young Black Girls Children's Fair, where children present and sell their products. Outreach focuses on Black girls and Detroit's Black neighborhoods, while participation is open regardless of race or gender.
We would like a marketing professional's guidance on three priorities during this one-hour consultation:
1. Define a clear core message and key audiences for introducing the program.
2. Identify and prioritize the first outreach materials to prepare for our website and Facebook page.
3. Choose a simple, practical way to track interest in the program.
The launch date and venue are not yet confirmed. Crystal Dowe, EYM's founder and executive director, will be the contact and bring the workshop plan and current website or outreach materials. We hope to leave with a prioritized communications checklist and recommendations, not completed designs or a campaign. Donor messaging about paid facilitation and coordination is outside this session's scope and can be considered separately after the core message is in place.
