Surmount New York is a young nonprofit with a strong vision but very limited funding at this stage (currently under $100). We want to be thoughtful and responsible in how we grow. Specifically, we’re looking for guidance on:

How to know when it’s safe to hire staff.

How to determine when to launch or scale programs based on funding.

What financial benchmarks or “triggers” we should set (e.g., minimum reserves, recurring revenue targets).

Our hope is to leave the session with a clearer framework for decision-making around staff and programs, and an idea of how to start building a simple financial roadmap.
