Fundraising and Revenue Strategy

We need guidance and ideas on making our Democracy Festival financially sustainable long-term. We’re a small but growing education nonprofit that launched DemFest in October 2024 in the Washington, DC area. Our goal is to replicate and grow the festival annually, but we need a strategy to ensure consistent funding. In our first year, we generated revenue primarily from donations, with some ticket sales, but we ultimately want to secure enough funding through donations, sponsorships, ticket sales, and grants to support a full-time staffer and materials for a large, annual DemFest in the nation’s capital.
