Global Empowerment Network, Inc. (GEN) provides free educational and development programs and connects underserved individuals with community and pro bono legal resources. GEN’s educational activities include areas such as language and communication, financial literacy, digital skills, leadership and management, professional development, and women’s empowerment.
GEN has grown significantly since its work began in 2021, but our systems for documenting program participation, outcomes, participant feedback, and longer-term impact have not developed at the same pace.
We need a practical impact measurement system appropriate for a growing nonprofit with limited staff. We do not need a complex academic evaluation model. Instead, we need to determine what information should be collected consistently, which indicators are meaningful for different types of programs, and how GEN can turn that information into credible evidence of results.
This project will build on our separate Program Design Framework project rather than redesigning GEN’s programs.
GEN can provide information about existing educational programs, participant engagement, current records, and examples of program activities. Learn more at www.globalempowermentnetwork.org
By the end of the project, we would like a simple and reusable impact measurement framework that GEN can apply across its programs.
The consultant will help create:
1. A core set of organization-wide indicators that GEN can track consistently.
2. Guidance for selecting program-specific outcome indicators for educational and community programs.
3. Simple participant intake, attendance or participation, completion, and feedback tools.
4. A practical method for documenting short-term outcomes such as knowledge gained, skills developed, participant progress, or connection to useful resources.
5. A simple system for organizing and reviewing collected data.
6. A concise reporting framework that GEN can use to communicate credible results to its Board, partners, donors, grantmakers, and community.
We would like the consultant to test the framework using one existing GEN educational program so that our team learns how to apply it independently.
Success would mean GEN can consistently answer three questions with reliable information: who participated, what the program delivered, and what changed as a result.
