We need to organize our financial records and establish a simple, maintainable bookkeeping process. Our current books are not organized, and we do not have clear expense categories or reconciled accounts. Our budget is small and the bookkeeping needs are straightforward. We also need a basic 2027 budget and a clear statement of our approximate annual spending and main programs.
We are looking for a volunteer with Accounting and Budgeting expertise to tidy our records and set up an ongoing bookkeeping process. The volunteer will:
- Organize our existing financial records into a clear filing structure and deliver a reconciled set of accounts for the most recent period available
- Define and document clear expense categories aligned to our main programs and label historical transactions accordingly
- Create a simple, step-by-step bookkeeping process we can maintain (including reconciliation steps and a brief checklist)
- Prepare a draft 2027 budget that includes our approximate annual spending and line items for our main programs
