About the Opportunity

We are seeking a marketing and communications strategist to help us prepare for the institutional launch of our organization/project.

We currently have a website, a mentor, and a designer developing social media assets and guidelines. However, we need an experienced communications professional to assess what we have, identify gaps and opportunities, and create a practical, cohesive launch strategy that reduces the burden on our small team.

This project will include a review of our current brand, website, messaging, social media presence, and existing launch materials. We need help clarifying how these pieces fit together, defining the audiences who need to know about our launch, and developing a communications approach that is realistic for our capacity.

The ideal volunteer will help us answer:

- What do we have now, and what is working?
- What needs to be improved before launch?
- What communications and brand elements are essential versus nice to have?
- Who needs to be informed, engaged, or mobilized?
- What should we say, when should we say it, and through which channels?
- How can we create a launch process that is organized, sustainable, and manageable?

We are looking for someone who can bring structure, strategic perspective, and practical recommendations—not just produce isolated marketing materials. The goal is to establish a strong foundation for our institutional launch and provide our team with a clear roadmap for communicating consistently before, during, and after launch.

The volunteer will create a practical institutional launch communications and marketing plan based on an assessment of our existing materials and capacity.

Expected deliverables may include:

1. **Current-state assessment**
- Review of our website, existing messaging, social media materials, brand assets, and communications processes
- Summary of strengths, gaps, inconsistencies, and priority improvements

2. **Messaging and audience framework**
- Clarification of key audiences and stakeholders
- Recommended audience segments and outreach priorities
- Core messages, value proposition, elevator pitch, and calls to action

3. **Stakeholder and outreach map**
- Identification of who should know about the launch, including partners, funders, community members, potential participants, media, peer organizations, advisors, and other relevant networks
- Recommended outreach methods and level of engagement for each group

4. **Launch communications strategy**
- Pre-launch, launch, and post-launch communications phases
- Recommended channels, timeline, sequencing, and responsibilities
- Suggested content themes and campaign ideas

5. **Implementation roadmap**
- Prioritized list of essential, recommended, and future improvements
- Practical next steps for the next 30, 60, and 90 days
- Guidance on how to reduce workload and make the plan manageable for a small team

6. **Templates or tools**
- Outreach list or tracking sheet
- Basic launch calendar
- Recommended communications workflow
- Sample announcement, email, social post, or partner outreach copy, as appropriate

We are open to the volunteer’s recommendations about the final format and scope. The most important outcome is a clear, actionable strategy that aligns our brand, messaging, outreach, and launch efforts.

Organization Mission

Climate House is a creative think tank using the arts to illustrate actionable pathways forward—and bring them to life. Our Mythos Embodied Climate: Climate change is not the abstract, technical issue it’s often framed to be–but a universal, ambient one experienced through our bodies and daily lives. CH communicates using universal sensory language, to reintegrate our understanding of climate change as real in the felt sense, and as a core defining issue shaping everything around us. Universal Sensory Language: By speaking this universal language of the senses, we can communicate in a language everyone speaks and understands. This helps reframe climate as an everyone issue–providing an opportunity for the general public to reclaim their agency in understanding it and engaging with its solutions creatively, collaboratively, and meaningfully. Culture-First: Culture is the fabric of daily life. CH uses a broad suite of cultural tools to meet people where they are, designing programming that is audience-tailored and culture-first, recognizing this as the carrier oil for engaging with more complex topics. Show-not-tell: Because seeing is believing, we design programs that show, not tell. All of our programs are seared with a blueprint, grounding solutions on the experiential plane, allowing our audience to feel solutions that are so actionable, they can taste them.
