About the Opportunity

American Music Institute (AMI) has grown its digital and promotional presence across multiple channels, creating a need for a stronger and more consistent visual identity.

Currently, AMI’s branding guidelines are not fully documented in one centralized resource. Different team members and collaborators create social media posts, flyers, emails, website graphics, advertisements, and other marketing materials. As a result, inconsistencies can occur in colors, typography, imagery, layouts, and overall visual presentation.

AMI has established logos and existing visual materials, but the next step is to organize and formalize these elements into a cohesive Brand Book & Visual Style Guide.

The opportunity is to create a clear visual framework that:

Defines AMI’s visual identity, personality, and overall brand direction.
Establishes consistent standards for colors, typography, imagery, logos, and graphic elements.
Provides clear guidance for creating materials across different marketing channels.
Gives the marketing team, staff, volunteers, and future designers an easy-to-follow reference.
Creates consistency across social media, the website, email marketing, advertising, print materials, events, and other communications.
Strengthens AMI’s professional, recognizable, and cohesive visual presence as the organization continues to grow.

AMI has addressed individual branding needs on a project-by-project basis, but we have not yet developed a comprehensive, centralized visual style system.

This project would provide the foundation needed to move from individual designs created as needed to a consistent and scalable brand system that can support American Music Institute for years to come.

The pro bono consultant will create a comprehensive Brand Book & Visual Style Guide for American Music Institute (AMI). The guide will provide clear, practical standards for maintaining a consistent and professional visual identity across AMI’s marketing and communications.

The Brand Book should include:

Logo usage and placement guidelines
Typography and font hierarchy
Photography and imagery direction
Graphic elements, patterns, shapes, and icons
Brand personality and visual style
Social media and digital design guidelines
Website and email visual recommendations
Print and promotional material guidelines
Examples or mockups showing how the visual system should be applied
Do’s and don’ts for consistent brand usage

The consultant will organize AMI’s existing visual assets and provide recommendations for creating a cohesive and recognizable visual identity across different marketing channels.

Final Deliverables

The project will result in:

American Music Institute Brand Book & Visual Style Guide – PDF
Editable source files and brand assets, where applicable

Success will mean having a complete, practical, and easy-to-use brand guide that serves as a long-term reference for AMI’s marketing team, staff, volunteers, and future designers.

The guide will make it easier to create consistent social media graphics, website content, email campaigns, advertisements, flyers, event materials, sponsorship materials, and other communications while maintaining a professional, cohesive, and recognizable American Music Institute brand.
