Climate House is a soon-to-launch cultural institution × think tank staging art, culture, and policy interventions for a changing climate. As we prepare to develop new programs, partnerships, and public-facing materials, we’re seeking a graphic designer to refine our existing brand guidelines and develop a more coherent, adaptable brand system to guide future work.
To date, we’ve produced brand materials in a somewhat disjointed way, revealing challenges with the transferability of certain colors, banners, and visual assets across different formats and contexts. We’re looking to address these challenges through a thoughtful review and update of our existing guidelines, ensuring that our visual identity can function more effectively across digital, print, event, and project-specific applications.
This project is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Climate House’s visual identity, language, and institutional purpose. We need core brand assets that communicate our work clearly, maintain visual coherence across materials, and provide enough flexibility to support distinct projects without losing a recognizable identity. Much of the language in our current guidelines is also outdated and needs to be revised to reflect our evolving practice and positioning.
The goal is to establish a practical, considered brand foundation that can support Climate House’s next phase of development and make future design projects more efficient, consistent, and aligned.
Brand guidelines review and update: Review the existing brand guidelines, identify areas that require refinement, and update the document to address challenges encountered during implementation. This includes revising outdated language and clarifying guidance where needed.
Coherent brand system: Develop a more integrated and adaptable visual system that establishes clear relationships between core brand elements, including color, typography, graphic treatments, imagery, and other relevant assets.
Core brand assets: Refine existing assets and develop additional foundational elements where needed, particularly assets that transfer effectively across digital, print, event, and other applications. This may include more adaptable banner formats, color applications, and visual elements that communicate Climate House’s work.
Application guidance: Provide practical guidance for applying the brand system across future projects and materials, balancing consistency with the flexibility needed for distinct programs and collaborations.
Final guidelines and working files: Deliver an updated brand guidelines document and organized, editable source files for the core brand assets and system components, enabling ongoing use and development by Climate House and future collaborators.
The final outcome should be a usable brand foundation that supports coherent, effective communication while allowing the visual identity to evolve alongside the institution.
