Strengthening the Foundation’s Brand: Core Positioning, Messaging, and Visual Guidelines
The Forest Preserve Foundation serves as the philanthropic partner of the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Our brand and communications need a refresh to clearly convey our role, impact, and value to donors, partners, and the broader community.
As we prepare to establish a dedicated fund supported by family foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors, we need clear, consistent messaging that explains how private philanthropy advances habitat restoration, youth development, and equitable access to nature. This project will establish the core brand foundation for future fundraising and communications work.
We are seeking a volunteer with Brand Strategy and Communications expertise to assess our existing brand and materials and develop practical messaging and visual guidelines that our small staff can readily use.
We are looking for a volunteer with Brand Strategy and Communications expertise to assess our current materials and produce practical, ready-to-use brand and messaging assets.

Develop a concise brand positioning statement that explains the Foundation’s role and the value of private philanthropy.
Deliver core messaging, including a brief organizational description, key messages, and supporting statements about our impact.
Create concise visual identity guidelines addressing the use of our logo, colors, typography, and imagery.
Provide suggestions for website layout and recommended communications materials
This project will provide shared messaging and visual guidance for our Family Foundation Initiative and Corporate Roots fundraising projects. Audience-specific cases for support will be developed through those projects. Website updates and communications templates will be addressed in subsequent projects.
