About the Opportunity

Rahma’s Hands Foundation is a newly established Colorado 501(c)(3) public charity. We need help establishing an accurate, sustainable bookkeeping system and preparing our first internally prepared, unaudited financial statements.

Our initial financial activity consists primarily of founder-funded formation, registration, website, and administrative expenses. We need professional guidance to record these transactions correctly, establish a nonprofit chart of accounts, separate program, administrative, and fundraising expenses, and create consistent procedures for contributions, reimbursements, restricted funds, receipts, and monthly reconciliations.

We have not previously established a formal bookkeeping system because the organization is new. Without this foundation, we cannot produce reliable financial reports, monitor budgets, or demonstrate strong financial stewardship to our board, donors, funders, and organizational partners.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver:

* A functional bookkeeping system appropriate for a small nonprofit
* A nonprofit chart of accounts tailored to our programs and operations
* Entry and reconciliation of available financial transactions
* Proper classification of contributions and expenses as program services, administration, or fundraising
* Procedures for founder-paid expenses, reimbursements, restricted contributions, receipts, and document retention
* Internally prepared, unaudited financial statements for the available reporting period, including a Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, and Statement of Functional Expenses
* A basic annual budget and budget-to-actual tracking template
* A monthly reconciliation and financial-closing checklist
* Written instructions and basic training so the organization can maintain the system independently

Success means Rahma’s Hands will have accurate financial records, usable financial reports, and a repeatable bookkeeping process that supports responsible board oversight, regulatory compliance, grant readiness, and donor transparency.
