About the Opportunity

ADUD is seeking a Microsoft 365 security and collaboration specialist to help us make AICE the controlled digital workplace for volunteers and other authorized collaborators. Our goal is to keep ADUD work product inside our Microsoft 365 environment, use browser-based Office applications where appropriate, reduce local downloading and uncontrolled file copies, and apply role-based access that can be reliably removed when a volunteer leaves.
The volunteer will design and pilot a secure collaboration model using the Microsoft capabilities available in ADUD's nonprofit tenant. Areas may include Microsoft Entra groups, SharePoint permissions, MFA/Conditional Access, browser-only or block-download configurations where supported, external sharing restrictions, Intune/MAM or Edge for Business controls where licensed, sensitivity/DLP options, and a higher-security ADUD Secure Workspace approach for selected HR, finance, governance, or restricted-data use cases. The project includes a controlled pilot with approximately 3-5 ADUD users/volunteers rather than an immediate organization-wide rollout.

Preferred Volunteer Qualifications
• Hands-on Microsoft Entra ID / Microsoft 365 / SharePoint security administration.
• Experience with Conditional Access, group-based access, SharePoint sharing controls, and browser/session restrictions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview information protection/DLP and Intune/MAM or Edge for Business controls.
• Experience with Windows 365 or Azure Virtual Desktop security is desirable for the Secure Workspace component.
• Ability to test security changes safely and document rollback procedures.
• Strong judgment around least privilege, privileged roles, and nonprofit resource constraints.

Required Deliverables
• Tiered AICE access model distinguishing standard internal access, protected volunteer/consultant collaboration, and ADUD Secure Workspace/high-risk access.
• Role-based Entra/Microsoft 365/SharePoint group model for priority user populations and functional areas.
• Volunteer access lifecycle: authorization, account/group assignment, MFA, workspace access, periodic review, suspension, and offboarding/revocation.
• Browser-only collaboration pilot for designated SharePoint content, using block-download/print/sync controls where technically and licensably appropriate.
• Assessment and configuration recommendations for clipboard, screenshot, managed-browser/MAM, DLP, sensitivity, session, and watermarking controls available to ADUD.
• Security test matrix covering at minimum authorized user, unauthorized user, departed user, external/guest scenario, download attempt, desktop-app attempt, sharing attempt, and role-change scenario.
• Pilot with approximately 3-5 users representing at least two roles, followed by remediation of identified issues.
• Security configuration register and administrator/offboarding SOP.

Organization Mission

ADUD is a non-partisan, non-profit organization created to ultimately empower African diaspora communities worldwide, by engaging and partnering with individuals, businesses, agencies, and institutions in a collaborative effort to heavily contribute to the educational and social development of Africa and to build a stronger community. The vision of ADUD is to improve the partnership opportunities for our African diaspora communities, so that together we can stand strong to address the social and educational issues and lacks in Africa. ADUD staff and trained volunteers will educate, connect people to resources and encourage community collaboration addressing subtopics including but not limited to health, youth, families, welfare and community development. Our programs are developed in direct response to community need. In a global view, ADUD understands that for all of the reasons, whether it be for the pursuit of increased economic and civil stability, for increased health well-being, or if it is to embark on a new job or join a loved one, the African Diaspora target community in this 21st Century, consists of people of African origin living outside their country of origin, irrespective of their current citizenship and nationality, who are willing to contribute to the development of Africa, starting with their local community. Through our principal pillars Help, Educate, Lead, and Promote Philanthropy (H.E.L.P.), we assist our local diaspora communities by connecting people to resources here and abroad by offering specialized educational programs and projects, by offering various workshops on awareness of community needs and integration, healthy living, etc. and other educational trainings, coordinating social and professional networking events, and providing organized opportunities to give back to our local communities and our countries.
