About the Opportunity

The challenge we would like to address is developing a cohesive communications strategy and clear messaging framework for Africa Future Gateway, Inc. (AFG). While AFG is established as a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity headquartered in Washington, D.C., our outreach currently lacks structured narrative positioning to effectively communicate our mission across multiple audiences—including international institutional partners, diaspora networks, local beneficiaries, and prospective donors. Without unified messaging guidelines, an editorial schedule, and distinct communication channels mapped to each audience segment, it is challenging to build sustained public engagement and institutional credibility.

To ground this work, we can hand over our foundational organizational documents, including our approved 501(c)(3) mission statements, corporate bylaws, foundational program briefs on our education and workforce training focus areas, executive leadership bios, and initial website and LinkedIn copy. The volunteer will not have to discover who we are from scratch; their focus will be synthesizing these core governance and mission assets into polished external messaging pillars, distinct audience value propositions, and an operational communications roadmap.

By the end of this project, the consultant will deliver a complete Strategic Communications Plan and Core Messaging Guide tailored to our international mission.

Deliverables will include:
Audience-specific value propositions (tailored for major donors, institutional grantmakers, and diaspora partners)

Standardized boilerplate text and elevator pitches for public collateral
Core narrative pillars and messaging guidelines
An initial 90-day multi-channel editorial calendar (social media, email, and partner updates)
Channel recommendations and distribution priorities
Success means having a turn-key communications toolkit that our executive leadership can immediately use to communicate AFG’s impact with consistency, clarity, and authority across digital platforms and fundraising outreach.
