The challenge we would like to address is establishing the foundational case for support and funding readiness for Africa Future Gateway, Inc. (AFG) as we transition from startup compliance into active development. AFG is an established U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to international education, digital skills, and workforce readiness. While our legal standing, corporate governance, and core leadership are firmly in place, we currently lack a codified Case for Support to pitch institutional funders, grantmakers, and major donors.
Rather than attempting a complex multi-year capital campaign prematurely, we need a seasoned fundraising consultant to assess our current funding readiness, evaluate our initial narrative, and help us structure a compelling, donor-centric Case for Support. We have our mission charter, program concepts, and leadership profiles ready to share with the volunteer from day one.
By the end of this project, the pro bono consultant will deliver a focused Funding Readiness Assessment and core Case for Support:
- Fundraising Readiness Review: A brief diagnostic identifying our key organizational strengths, immediate funding hurdles, and recommended near-term fundraising channels (grants vs. major gifts vs. diaspora campaigns).
- Core Case for Support Document (3–5 pages): A compelling institutional narrative detailing the problem statement, AFG’s unique solution, workforce development impact model, and clear philanthropic investment rationale.
- Priority Funder Persona Profile: A target donor persona definition outlining who our most viable early-stage institutional supporters and philanthropic partners are.
Success means having an articulated, credible case for funding that leadership can immediately draw upon for early grant applications and donor conversations
