About the Opportunity

Rainbow Routes builds study away programs that put queer identity at the center of the learning. We ran our first one in June 2026: a field study on California queer history with the University of Northern Colorado's History Department, in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The website was built before that program existed, so it still talks about Rainbow Routes in future tense, a program we hope to run someday rather than one we just delivered. A university considering a partnership, or a donor deciding whether to give, lands on a site that undersells what's already happened. I'm the sole staff member, and the website has been sitting behind the work of actually running the program. I haven't touched it since the pilot wrapped in July.

I also want the pilot to do more than document what happened. It's our first proof that this model works, and the site should use it that way: evidence that Rainbow Routes can deliver a program at this level, not just a record that one occurred.

By the end of this project, the website should read like it belongs to an organization that has run a successful program with a real university, because it has. This is primarily a content update, not a redesign.

Deliverables:
-Homepage and program page copy rewritten to describe the June 2026 program as completed: partner institution, dates, and itinerary (San Francisco and Los Angeles)
-Placeholder and future-tense language replaced throughout
-Student testimonials and end-of-program survey data from the June cohort woven in where they strengthen credibility (I have this ready to hand over)
-Program photos added where the site currently uses stock images or none (I'll supply these)
-Light guidance on framing the pilot as proof of what Rainbow Routes can deliver, to build confidence with future partners and donors, without overstating what's confirmed next
-A consistency pass on tone and terminology across the rest of the site

Success is a prospective partner, donor, or student reading the site and coming away understanding that Rainbow Routes already delivered, not that it's still an idea.
