About the Opportunity

The Boys & Girls Club of Kingsville (BGCK) is working to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that will provide staff with clear, consistent guidance for the daily operation and delivery of programs across all sites under our supervision. As staff members transition into new roles and new employees are hired, it is important that our organization has a standardized resource that clearly outlines program expectations, daily routines, safety practices, and operational procedures.

Currently, many program procedures and expectations are communicated through staff training, verbal instruction, and ongoing communication with supervisors. While these methods are important, they can result in staff relying on different sources of information or individual interpretations of how programs should be conducted. A standardized SOP will provide employees with one centralized resource that can be referenced when planning and conducting daily program activities.

The development of this Standard Operating Procedure will establish clear expectations for how programs should be operated across BGCK sites. The SOP will incorporate applicable Boys & Girls Clubs of America safety practices and established organizational requirements while providing practical, step-by-step guidance for staff. It will address areas such as daily program routines, youth supervision, transitions, activity preparation, facility expectations, safety procedures, incident response, documentation, and other operational practices necessary for the successful delivery of program.

The SOP will also serve as a key resource for all staff members. Employees will not only rely on on verbal instruction or supervisor-to-staff training, new hires will have access to a written reference that outlines how programs are expected to operate. Experienced staff will also be able to use the SOP as an ongoing reference to reinforce consistency and ensure that established procedures are followed.

Support from pro bono partners would provide valuable expertise and guidance in helping us develop a practical and comprehensive SOP that our staff can use confidently and consistently to operate our programs.
