About the Opportunity

Africa 2100 is seeking an experienced nonprofit strategy, program evaluation, monitoring & evaluation (M&E), or impact measurement professional to conduct an independent assessment of our programs, particularly the Foundation Readiness Program (FRP), Arise Campus Chapter Program, and our current approach to measuring and communicating impact.
We want an objective external perspective on what is working, where evidence is strong or limited, whether our theory of change and program design are producing the intended outcomes, and how strengthen our ability to demonstrate meaningful and measurable impact.

The assessment will help establish a stronger foundation for program improvement, future evaluation, and evidence-based fundraising.

What the volunteer would do:
Review relevant program materials, curriculum, reports, participant data, surveys, and existing impact measures.
Assess the design, delivery, and intended outcomes of FRP and other key programs.
Review the logic connecting activities → outputs → outcomes → impact and identify evidence gaps.
Assess the quality, consistency, and usefulness of current monitoring and participant data.
Evaluate whether current impact claims and metrics are appropriately defined, measured, and supported by available evidence.
Identify strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Recommend practical improvements to program monitoring, evaluation, and impact communication.

Deliverables:
1. Independent assessment of current program design, delivery, outcomes, and impact measurement.
2. Key findings and evidence gaps, including areas requiring stronger definitions, data, or validation.
3. Prioritized recommendations for improving program effectiveness and measurement.
4. Recommended core impact indicators and measurement approach for ongoing monitoring.
5. Practical roadmap for strengthening Africa 2100's M&E and impact reporting capabilities.

Success looks like:
Africa 2100 has an independent, evidence-based assessment of its programs and impact, a clearer understanding of what the current data can—and cannot—demonstrate, and a practical roadmap for strengthening program delivery, measurement, and external impact reporting.

The ultimate goal is to move from "we believe our model is working" to "we can demonstrate, measure, and continuously improve how and why it works."
