WCAG 2.2 Level AA Accessibility Review & Implementation Support for Nonprofit Website

By the end of the project, Phoebe’s Safe Haven would like a clear, actionable accessibility assessment and implementation plan to help our website team align the site with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

The pro bono consultant will review key website pages, wireframes, and interactive features and identify accessibility barriers, relevant WCAG criteria, priority levels, and recommended corrections.

Specific deliverables will include:

• A WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility audit of key pages and features.
• A prioritized report identifying critical, high-priority, and recommended improvements.
• Review of keyboard navigation, focus visibility, screen reader compatibility, color contrast, alternative text, headings, links, buttons, forms, mobile responsiveness, and touch targets.
• Accessibility review of Get Help resources, the Quick Exit feature, safety planning tools, resource directories, forms, and navigation.
• Practical remediation guidance for our Squarespace developer and website team.
• A follow-up review after priority corrections are implemented.
• An accessibility maintenance checklist for future website updates.

Success would mean that critical accessibility barriers are identified and addressed before launch whenever feasible, and our team has the knowledge and tools needed to maintain accessibility as the website grows.
