About the Opportunity

We're finalizing a new website, and we need support designing the information architecture and user experience within Climate House’s established Programs page structure.

Our two program pathways and overall “spine” of the web page are already defined; the challenge is determining how users should navigate and discover the interconnected projects, events, research, and other program information within that framework.

We need an experienced UX/information architecture professional to help us establish a clear, intuitive system for organizing, surfacing, and connecting information—particularly where projects and activities relate to multiple program pathways. The project should also determine how an integrated calendar can function as part of this ecosystem rather than as a disconnected list of events.

The goal is a user-friendly architecture that makes Climate House’s interdisciplinary work easy to understand and explore, while creating a practical information-management system our small team can maintain as programs and projects grow.

A practical UX/information architecture blueprint for the existing Climate House Programs page, including:

• Recommended information hierarchy and navigation within the established page structure
• User flows showing how visitors move between programs, pathways, projects, events, and related content
• Recommendations for cross-linking, categories, tags, filters, and related-content relationships
• Recommended integration and user experience for the Programs calendar
• Annotated wireframe(s) or equivalent structural UX documentation showing how the architecture should work in practice
• A lightweight content model identifying the key information/metadata needed for projects and events, and how content can be surfaced in multiple contexts without unnecessary duplication

The final deliverable should be sufficiently concrete for our web designer/developer to implement and should include recommendations for maintaining the system as Climate House grows.

Organization Mission

Climate House is a creative think tank using the arts to illustrate actionable pathways forward—and bring them to life. Our Mythos Embodied Climate: Climate change is not the abstract, technical issue it’s often framed to be–but a universal, ambient one experienced through our bodies and daily lives. CH communicates using universal sensory language, to reintegrate our understanding of climate change as real in the felt sense, and as a core defining issue shaping everything around us. Universal Sensory Language: By speaking this universal language of the senses, we can communicate in a language everyone speaks and understands. This helps reframe climate as an everyone issue–providing an opportunity for the general public to reclaim their agency in understanding it and engaging with its solutions creatively, collaboratively, and meaningfully. Culture-First: Culture is the fabric of daily life. CH uses a broad suite of cultural tools to meet people where they are, designing programming that is audience-tailored and culture-first, recognizing this as the carrier oil for engaging with more complex topics. Show-not-tell: Because seeing is believing, we design programs that show, not tell. All of our programs are seared with a blueprint, grounding solutions on the experiential plane, allowing our audience to feel solutions that are so actionable, they can taste them.
