About the Opportunity

Sambhali Trust has grown over nearly twenty years and today works through several programmes, centres, residential homes and support functions across Rajasthan. As the organisation has grown, our HR and staff-management practices have also developed, but many of them have evolved gradually according to day-to-day needs.

We already have systems for recruitment, staff responsibilities, documentation, supervision, training and other HR matters. However, these are not yet sufficiently standardised across the organisation.

We would therefore like pro bono support from an experienced HR professional who can review what we currently have, identify the important gaps and help us put together a more consistent and practical HR system.

The areas where we particularly need support include staff roles and responsibilities, recruitment and onboarding, performance reviews, staff development and training, HR documentation and internal procedures.

We have tried to address these areas internally over the years, but we now feel that an independent professional perspective would be very useful. We are not looking for a complicated corporate HR system. We need something realistic and manageable for a grassroots nonprofit working across different locations in Rajasthan.

The aim is to strengthen the systems we already have and make them clearer, more consistent and easier for our team to maintain as Sambhali continues to grow.

By the end of the project, we would like to have a practical HR toolkit and clear implementation plan that Sambhali Trust can use and maintain internally.

The consultant would review our existing HR policies, processes and staff documentation, speak with relevant team members and help us identify the areas that need the most attention.

The final work could include:

A review of our existing HR systems and identification of important gaps.

A standard framework for staff roles and job descriptions.

A practical recruitment and onboarding process, with simple templates and checklists.

A staff performance and review system that is suitable for our organisation.

A framework for staff training and development.

Practical recommendations for HR documentation, staff records and internal procedures.

A simple implementation plan showing what should be done first and how the systems can be maintained internally.

Success for us would mean having a clearer and more consistent HR system across Sambhali, rather than important processes depending mainly on the knowledge or working style of individual staff members.

Most importantly, we would like the project to leave us with practical tools that our team can actually use—templates, procedures and guidance—not only a written assessment or general recommendations.
