About the Opportunity

We have no system for collecting or verifying volunteer hours: athletes currently report hours by email or one-off Google Forms, and we track them by hand in spreadsheets. With over 2,300 athletes in our applicant pipeline and a Fall 2026 cohort onboarding, this manual process does not scale and leaves us without a clean verification trail for funders and potential NCAA partners. We also have no public, browsable place for athletes to tell the story behind their service—those stories live in my inbox and are unavailable to donors and sponsors. Our site is on Wix; I have mapped a CMS collection, a custom form, a review status field to gate publishing, and dynamic pages per athlete, but I am the sole full-time staff and do not have the technical capacity to build these correctly without risking athlete data and consent handling.

We are looking for a volunteer with Wix development expertise to implement a working section on karesinc.org that combines athlete story publishing with volunteer-hours submission and verification.

The volunteer will:
- Build a Wix CMS collection containing fields for athlete name, roster number, school, sport, cause category, story, photos, hours served, date, partner organization, supervisor contact, and verification status.
- Create a custom submission form that writes into the CMS collection, allows athletes to submit hours and upload photos, captures supervisor contact, and includes a consent/privacy notice; new submissions should be saved in a pending state.
- Configure a review workflow using a review-status field that gates what publishes publicly, and implement a verification step (using the supervisor contact and a verification-status field) so submitted hours have an auditable trail before publishing.
- Build dynamic athlete story pages (CMS-driven templates) that display approved stories and associated hours on the public site, and ensure unpublished/pending entries are not exposed publicly.

We are seeking a volunteer who can complete these tasks remotely on our Wix site and hand over the implemented CMS, form, and review workflow so our team can operate it going forward.
