About the Opportunity

We are a New York and South Africa–based nonprofit running a 3-year program in fashion, film, and photography that serves 2,000 creatives. We are seeking $300,000 to formalize, centralize, and internationalize creative fields in Africa and are preparing applications to major funders including UNESCO, AU 2063, and the MasterCard Foundation as part of a broader fundraising effort.

We are looking for a volunteer with Grant Writing expertise to develop a prioritized outreach and application strategy for UNESCO, AU 2063, and the MasterCard Foundation that aligns with our 3-year program serving 2,000 creatives. The volunteer will:
- Conduct eligibility checks for UNESCO, AU 2063, and the MasterCard Foundation and produce a concise eligibility report that lists each funder’s application windows, eligibility criteria, and any notable submission restrictions.
- Compile a prioritized list of recommended funding opportunities (including the named funders and closely aligned programs), with each entry showing the funder/program name, application portal or contact link, a short alignment rationale to our program, and why we should or should not pursue it.
- Create a 6-month outreach and application timeline with sequenced milestones for outreach, proposal drafting, review, and submission across the prioritized opportunities.
- Draft a customizable proposal template for the top five recommended opportunities, with sections for project summary, objectives, activities, a budget placeholder, and brief guidance on tailoring language to each funder.
