About the Opportunity

The Social Work Ladies Collective, Inc. is seeking a skilled photography and/or videography volunteer to help us build a visual storytelling library and content system for our Fall 2026 programming.

We are a growing NYC-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates wellness, professional development, networking, and community-building experiences for women and femme-identifying social workers and mental health professionals.

During Fall 2026, we will host several community events, including a Community Wellness Walk, Fall Networking Mixer, Fall Wellness Fest, and Holiday Social. We are looking for a creative volunteer who can help us capture high-quality photography and short-form video content at one or more of these events and establish a consistent approach for documenting our programming.

The volunteer would help us:

Develop a simple photography/video shot list and visual storytelling approach for our events
Capture candid community moments, group photos, activities, partner engagement, and event highlights
Capture short-form vertical video clips suitable for Instagram Reels and other social media
Organize and curate selected photos and video clips for future use
Recommend best practices for capturing future SWLC events

The final deliverable will be a curated visual library and practical visual storytelling guide that SWLC can continue using across our 2026–2027 programming.

The volunteer does not need to attend every event. We are open to working with someone based on their availability and the needs of the project.

SWLC's mission is centered on creating spaces where social workers and mental health professionals can connect, recharge, grow, and experience community care. Our events are a major part of how we bring that mission to life.

High-quality visual storytelling will help us more effectively communicate the impact of these experiences and reach more members of the social work and mental health community.

Through this project, a skilled volunteer will help us document moments of wellness, connection, creativity, professional networking, and community care. These visuals will allow us to better showcase our work to community members, partners, funders, volunteers, and future participants.

The resulting visual library will also help SWLC strengthen its digital presence, support future fundraising and partnership efforts, and demonstrate the impact of our programming.

Ultimately, the volunteer's creative contribution will help us tell the story of a growing nonprofit and expand our ability to reach and serve the social work and mental health community.

SWLC has an established Fall 2026 event calendar and confirmed programming plans, providing the volunteer with multiple opportunities to capture content. We have already identified the types of visual content we need for our website, social media, newsletters, impact reporting, and community outreach.

I will lead the project directly and will work closely with the volunteer to establish priorities, provide event information and schedules, coordinate access to events, and provide timely feedback.

We also have existing event materials, branding, social media channels, and examples of previous event photography that can be shared with the volunteer to help establish the visual style we are looking for.

The SWLC team will implement the resulting visual library and recommendations across future events and communications. We are prepared to provide prompt feedback, meet agreed-upon deadlines, and keep the project focused on the agreed deliverables.
