About the Opportunity

Since its creation, WACCP's website has been designed and managed by me, the organization's founder and, to date, sole employee. Website management is one of many responsibilities I carry, making it difficult to dedicate the time needed to consistently review, organize, and update the site.

I also find the IONOS platform somewhat difficult to navigate, particularly when it comes to layout and design, which can make even routine updates more time-consuming and has become a deterrent to keeping the site as current as I would like.

Additionally, WACCP does not currently have anyone dedicated to supporting our website or broader digital presence. A couple of volunteers have offered assistance in the past, but unfortunately became unavailable before sustained progress could be made.

These challenges have resulted in a website that contains a substantial amount of useful content but needs a more intentional structure and strategy to make it easier to navigate, update, and build upon.

By the end of the project, we would like WACCP’s existing website to be revised and reorganized so that its content, navigation, and overall structure more clearly reflect the organization and its work today.

The pro-bono consultant will work with us to assess the existing site and then implement agreed-upon changes to its structure, organization, and content. This may include reorganizing pages and navigation, revising how programs and initiatives are presented, consolidating or removing outdated or duplicative content, identifying and incorporating needed content updates, and improving the overall flow and presentation of information throughout the site.

The primary deliverable will be an updated and more intentionally organized WACCP website, along with any recommendations for additional work that may fall outside the scope or timeframe of this project.

Success would mean having a website that communicates our work and impact more clearly, is easier for visitors to navigate, and better represents the cultural richness and creativity at the heart of our organization.

Our website is an important gateway to our cultural, arts, humanities, placemaking, and educational work. A successfully completed project will strengthen our digital presence and help community members discover programs and events, learn about the cultures and histories represented through our work, explore our cultural heritage and placemaking initiatives, and find meaningful ways to participate.
