About the Opportunity

Create a concise, donor-ready Case for Support: a foundational narrative (1–2 pages) that articulates Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center’s history, mission, unique assets (141+ year record, National Historic Landmark, Centennial Observing Station), and current need for general operating support and a key hire.

This Case for Support will strengthen fundraising to sustain the Observatory’s unmatched climate record, support climate science research and STEM education, and help preserve the National Historic Landmark. Volunteer support will directly enable continued observations, educational outreach, and a strategic hire to stabilize operations.

We recently completed governance modernization and can provide background materials, historic data summaries, and leadership context. Board and staff will participate in interviews and review drafts. The final text will be used across grant applications, major-donor outreach, and appeals.
