About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help Droste Mental Health Services develop a client impact survey for our Scholarship Fund.

Droste’s core programming includes a sliding scale fee structure that helps reduce financial barriers to mental health care. The Scholarship Fund allows individuals who cannot afford standard private practice rates to access high-quality therapy without facing the lengthy waitlists often associated with hospitals and community clinics.

We are looking for a volunteer with experience in survey design, program evaluation, research, or data collection to help us develop a concise and accessible survey that captures the impact of this support.

The survey should help us understand client experience, access to care, financial barriers, the role of the scholarship in making treatment possible, and the impact of receiving services. We also want to identify meaningful quantitative and qualitative measures that can support clinical excellence, program improvement, funder reporting, and future fundraising.

The volunteer will help develop the survey questions, structure, and final format so our team can implement it with Scholarship Fund recipients.

Droste Mental Health Services is committed to making high-quality psychotherapy accessible to people who may otherwise be unable to afford it. Our Scholarship Fund and sliding scale model directly address one of the most significant barriers to accessing mental health care: cost.

A strong client impact survey will help us understand and demonstrate the difference this support makes. We want to capture not only how many people receive assistance, but what that assistance makes possible, including whether clients would have been able to access therapy without financial support, how quickly they were able to begin care, and how the experience has affected their wellbeing and ability to engage in treatment.

This information will strengthen our ability to evaluate and improve the program while providing compelling evidence of impact to current and prospective funders and donors. It will help us tell a more complete story about why accessible mental health care matters and why philanthropic support is essential to making that access possible.

Most importantly, the survey will give Scholarship Fund recipients an opportunity to share their experiences and help Droste better understand and respond to the barriers facing people seeking mental health care.

Droste has existing client communications, program information, and organizational materials that can provide context for the project. Our leadership and clinical teams will also identify the key questions and outcomes we need the survey to address.

We will provide the volunteer with background on the Scholarship Fund, our sliding scale model, the populations we serve, and the ways we currently communicate the program’s impact. We will establish a clear internal point of contact and provide timely feedback throughout the project.

The completed survey will be reviewed internally before implementation. Our team will administer the survey, analyze the findings, and use the results in program improvement, clinical quality efforts, funder reporting, grant applications, donor communications, and fundraising.

We are looking for someone who can help us develop a survey that produces meaningful data without placing an unnecessary burden on clients.
