About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help Droste Mental Health Services develop a client survey for our Student Sponsors Partner (SSP) program, which provides mental health services to young people.

We have an existing client survey from another youth focused program that can serve as a starting point. We are looking for a volunteer with experience in survey design, program evaluation, research, or data collection to help us adapt and strengthen the survey specifically for SSP.

The goal is to create a concise, accessible survey that captures meaningful information about client experience, program impact, access to services, engagement, and outcomes. We also want to ensure the survey captures useful quantitative and qualitative data that can inform clinical excellence, program improvement, funder reporting, and future fundraising efforts.

The volunteer will review our existing survey, recommend appropriate questions and measures, help structure the survey, and develop a final version that our team can implement with SSP clients.

Droste Mental Health Services provides accessible, affordable, and inclusive psychotherapy and trauma informed counseling to New Yorkers in need. The Student Sponsors Partner program expands that mission by connecting young people with access to mental health services.

Developing a strong client survey will help us better understand whether and how SSP is making a meaningful difference for the young people we serve. The information collected will help us identify opportunities to improve the client experience and strengthen clinical and programmatic practices.

The data will also help us demonstrate the impact of SSP to current and prospective funders. Having consistent, meaningful outcome and experience data will strengthen our ability to communicate the value of the program, support future funding opportunities, and demonstrate responsible stewardship of resources.

Most importantly, this project will give young people a structured opportunity to share their experiences and help shape the services they receive. Their feedback will inform both clinical excellence and the continued development of a program designed to meet their needs.

Droste has already developed a client survey for another youth focused program that can serve as a foundation for this project. We will provide the volunteer with the existing survey, relevant information about the SSP program, and context about the population we serve and the outcomes we hope to understand.

Our leadership and clinical teams will provide input on the information that is most important to capture, including client experience, engagement, access, and indicators of impact. We will have a clear internal point of contact for the volunteer and will provide timely feedback throughout the process.

The completed survey will be reviewed internally before implementation, and our team will be responsible for administering the survey, reviewing results, and incorporating findings into program planning, clinical quality improvement, funder reporting, and fundraising materials.

We are looking for someone who can help us balance meaningful data collection with a survey experience that is appropriate, accessible, and manageable for young clients.
