About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help Droste Mental Health Services develop a comprehensive, accessible, and client friendly Client Handbook.

The handbook will serve as a central resource for clients receiving psychotherapy and mental health services through Droste. It will help clients understand what to expect from services, how to navigate their relationship with Droste and their clinician, and where to find important information throughout their care.

The volunteer will help us organize and develop the handbook content, identify gaps or areas that need clarification, and create a clear, welcoming resource that reflects Droste’s mission and values. We have existing policies, procedures, client communications, and organizational information that can serve as source material.

The final deliverable will be a polished Client Handbook that our team can provide to new and existing clients and incorporate into our onboarding process.

Droste Mental Health Services provides accessible, affordable, and inclusive psychotherapy and trauma informed counseling to New Yorkers in need. A clear and accessible Client Handbook will help us strengthen the client experience by making important information easier to understand and navigate.

For many clients, beginning mental health services can involve unfamiliar processes, policies, expectations, and administrative requirements. A well-designed handbook can reduce confusion, establish clear expectations, help clients understand how to access support, and make it easier for them to navigate their relationship with Droste and their clinician.

This project will strengthen the infrastructure supporting our clinical services while helping us create a more consistent, transparent, and welcoming experience for the people we serve. The volunteer’s work will have a direct and lasting impact on how clients experience Droste from the beginning of their engagement with us.

Droste has existing policies, procedures, client communications, organizational information, and other materials that will serve as source content for the handbook. Our leadership team will provide the volunteer with these materials, establish the key content areas, and provide timely feedback throughout the project.

We have internal support for developing the handbook and intend to make it an ongoing part of our client onboarding and engagement process. The volunteer will have a clear point of contact at Droste who can answer questions, review drafts, and help move the project forward.

We are looking for someone who can help us bring together existing information into a cohesive, accessible, and client centered resource rather than starting entirely from scratch.
