About the Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled volunteer to develop a comprehensive social media playbook and tiered campaign framework that our volunteer team can use to promote our community's events, programs, and services year-round.

Our community center serves Eritrean-American families across Georgia through activities ranging from small weekly gatherings to major annual celebrations — our community anniversary and graduation ceremony — plus year-round fundraising and mission-awareness messaging. Right now we have no framework that tells a volunteer how much lead time or what kind of content a given activity actually needs, so our posting/activity varies between silence, occasional posting, and strong engagement depending on who's available that month.

Specifically, you will help us:

- Design a tiered campaign framework defining lead time, posting cadence, and content types for three levels: small gatherings (2–3 week buildup), flagship celebrations (3–6 month buildup), and always-on fundraising/mission awareness.
- Create a social media playbook (PDF or Google Doc) outlining these tiers with a clear workflow a new volunteer can follow without prior marketing experience.
- Develop reusable templates (ideally Canva) and a one-month sample calendar demonstrating the framework using our existing photo archive.

We primarily use Instagram and Facebook.

Our mission is to unite Eritrean-American families across Georgia, preserve our language and culture for the next generation, and help new immigrants find their footing — and nearly all of that work happens through the events, programs, and services this playbook will promote. Inconsistent promotion today means people who'd genuinely want to be part of these events simply don't hear about them in time.

Because our board serves fixed terms and turns over regularly (every 3 years), a one-time push wouldn't outlast the people who built it. A documented playbook means a new volunteer joining years from now can open one resource and know exactly how to promote an event of any size — a direct, lasting investment in the same continuity our nearly 40-year history was built on.

Our Board has reviewed and aligned around this initiative, Nahom (board member) will be the point of contact who will attend every working session, along with occasional engagement from other board members and posters.

To prepare, we can provide previous, full year's, calendar of events, programs, and services; our logo, brand colors, and current hashtags; and a shared Drive folder with a sample of our event photography for building the demo calendar. Our current presence is live at atleritrea.org, instagram.com/atleritrea, and facebook.com/ATLERI. Any additional items requested can be provided as soon as possible.

Organization Mission

EACAG exists to strengthen and serve the Eritrean community of Georgia across three enduring commitments: A United Community — Building a harmonious, prosperous community where members support one another and renew the mutual respect inherited from our forefathers; Culture & Youth — Enabling our youth to learn their language and culture, stay connected to their roots, and grow close to one another; Support for New Arrivals — Helping new immigrants access the social and economic resources available to them, and supporting families through life’s challenges.
