Website Design Audit and Wireframe
Our current website is designed and maintained using Bootstrap Studio and is built with the Bootstrap framework. BCGC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community choir rooted in the African American gospel music tradition. Our website should reflect our motto, “Rooted in Tradition. United in Joy,” while serving current and prospective singers, concert attendees, donors, community partners, volunteers, and grant funders.
The volunteer will help us:
Audit the structure, design, navigation, and mobile responsiveness of our current website.
Clarify the needs of our primary audiences.
Recommend a clear and accessible site structure.
Develop wireframes or page-layout concepts.
Recommend design improvements that reflect our current branding.
Improve how visitors find information about joining the choir, attending concerts, donating, volunteering, and partnering with us.
Recommend ways to present our mission, history, leadership, programs, concerts, photographs, videos, and community impact.
Identify accessibility, performance, and technical improvements that can be implemented in Bootstrap Studio.
Determine which recommendations our existing team can implement and which may require additional web-development support.
The anticipated deliverables are:
A website audit and requirements document.
A proposed site map and navigation structure.
Wireframes or design concepts for the homepage and key interior pages.
Recommendations for branding, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and user experience.
Bootstrap Studio-compatible design guidance, including recommended components, layouts, and styling.
A prioritized implementation plan for updating the website.
The project will take place over approximately six to nine weeks. During the first meeting, we will introduce the organization, discuss our audiences and goals, and review the current website and our team’s technical capacity. We will participate in scheduled check-ins and provide timely feedback as the volunteer develops and refines the recommendations.
Beloved Community Gospel Choir is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that preserves and honors the African American gospel music tradition while creating an inclusive and affirming community where singers of different backgrounds, faiths, and experience levels can learn, grow, and belong.
Our website is often the first place prospective singers, audience members, donors, volunteers, sponsors, grant funders, and community partners encounter our organization. A more accessible, attractive, and user-friendly website will help us clearly communicate who we are, what we offer, and how people can become involved.
This project will help us:
Recruit and welcome new singers.
Promote concerts, rehearsals, and community events.
Share the history and cultural significance of African American gospel music.
Increase awareness of our nonprofit mission.
Recruit volunteers and community partners.
Strengthen relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant funders.
Make donation and sponsorship opportunities easier to find.
Demonstrate our programs and community impact.
Provide current choir members with easier access to important information.
Expand our visibility throughout Lake County and the greater Chicago area.
By helping us strengthen our online presence, the volunteer will support our ability to preserve the African American gospel music tradition, create meaningful community, and make joyful music-making available to more people.
We can provide:
Access to our current website files, including relevant HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap components.
Our mission, organizational history, nonprofit status, motto, and program descriptions.
Information about our primary audiences and website goals.
Our logo, brand colors, photographs, videos, concert information, and existing written content.
Examples of nonprofit and arts organization websites we find effective.
Information about our current technical capabilities and budget limitations.
Timely feedback from the founder and artistic director.
We have already developed much of the language that describes our organization, programs, concerts, and community impact. We also have existing branding materials and photographs that can be incorporated into the website.
Matthew Hunter, BCGC’s founder and artistic director, will lead the project and work directly with the volunteer. He will attend meetings, respond promptly to questions, provide materials, gather internal feedback when needed, and make final decisions regarding the project.
We understand the importance of maintaining a focused project scope. We are prepared to prioritize the most important website improvements and use the volunteer’s final recommendations and documentation to guide future updates.
