About the Opportunity

A practical procurement strategy and supporting infrastructure: review AfCoFo’s current registrations and readiness; identify appropriate NAICS and NIGP codes; create decision criteria for pursuing opportunities; identify relevant NYC and NYS opportunities; develop a capability statement and standard proposal materials; train staff; and design a procurement-readiness initiative for African entrepreneurs.

This project will expand pathways for African immigrants and entrepreneurs to access NYC and NYS contracting opportunities, creating job and revenue pathways and strengthening economic mobility. Volunteers will help AfCoFo act as a bridge between communities and public institutions, enabling long-term inclusion and opportunity for African-owned businesses in New York City.

AfCoFo will collaborate closely with the volunteer and provide access to current registration documents and stakeholders for interviews and training. Volunteers will co-develop templates, processes, and staff training materials.
