Accounting Systems Set Up

We're looking for a volunteer with experience setting up intuit Quickbooks Plus Online from scratch! We also bought the tutorial for helping non-profits from them and want it to be set up so we are grant-compliant. You'll help us set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices by spending 20-25 hours with us over 4-5 weeks. In our first meeting, we'll share a detailed description of our existing financial record-keeping and reporting systems. In phase one of the project, you'll migrate our data over to our new software and help us set up our account administrator privileges for our users. In the second phase of our project, you will provide one or two of our team members with basic training. We ask that you make yourself available for up to two weeks to address our questions as we adjust to the new software and systems.

We are an exciting and ambitious new start up music education program in NYC that wants to grow our student body and expand access to music education regardless of economic means. We also believe in paying our teachers who are often struggling musicians well, and have just done an out reach performance at Lincoln Center this July! By being a music school 'without walls' and bringing teachers into families' apartments, we are able to stay affordable and accessible to more and more families. However as we grow we need more formal accounting and I don't have the background in it. We do have an accountant who does our taxes, but we now need a more involved system for accuracy and being ready for when we apply for grants.

We've acquired the software from Techsoup and we are starting to implement Teachworks for our mobile non-profit school. We need a combined system teachworks + quickbooks. You will work directly with myself, IMA's director and perhaps one other person.
