Product Strategy & UX Design for OP72 Community Resource App
Addictions N Me (ANM) is developing OP72 (Opening Paths 72), an AI-powered mobile platform designed to help individuals navigate the critical first 72 hours after reentry, recovery, or another major life transition. The app will connect users with housing, employment, transportation, food assistance, mental health services, recovery resources, self-care services, and other community supports through one easy-to-use platform.
We are seeking a Taproot volunteer with experience in product strategy, UX/UI design, technology, or digital innovation to help us move OP72 from concept to a development-ready product. Specifically, we need assistance defining the app's user experience, prioritizing core features for a minimum viable product (MVP), mapping user journeys, organizing technical requirements, and creating wireframes or mockups that can be shared with developers and potential funders.
This project will provide ANM with a clear roadmap for building OP72 while ensuring the platform is user-friendly, accessible, and responsive to the needs of individuals and families. The volunteer's expertise will help us strengthen our technology strategy, improve our ability to attract funding, and accelerate the development of a tool that can expand access to life-changing resources throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
The expected outcome is a development-ready product plan that includes user flows, prioritized features, wireframes, and recommendations for the next phase of app development.
By volunteering on this project, you'll help transform an innovative idea into a practical solution that can change lives. OP72 (Opening Paths 72) is being designed to support people during one of the most vulnerable periods of their lives—the first 72 hours after reentry, recovery, or another major life transition. During this critical window, individuals often struggle to find housing, employment, transportation, food, healthcare, and other essential resources.
Your expertise will help ANM create a technology platform that connects people to the right resources at the right time, making it easier for individuals and families to navigate complex systems and build a path toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
The work you do will extend far beyond the completion of this project. It will strengthen our ability to secure funding, attract community partners, and move OP72 into development so it can serve communities throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Every recommendation, wireframe, strategy, or design you contribute will help build a tool that has the potential to improve lives, reduce barriers to services, and create stronger, healthier communities.
This is an opportunity to apply your professional skills to a mission-driven project with lasting impact. Together, we can build a solution that empowers people with hope, resources, and opportunities when they need them most.
We have developed the initial concept, outlined the primary features, identified our target users, and gathered information on community partners and services that will be incorporated into the app. We have also begun identifying potential funding opportunities to support future development and implementation.
Our team is committed to working closely with the Taproot volunteer by providing timely feedback, attending scheduled meetings, sharing all available materials, and making decisions quickly to keep the project moving forward. Once the project is complete, we will immediately use the deliverables to guide app development, strengthen grant proposals, engage potential technology partners, and prepare for a pilot launch with ANM participants and community partners in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
We view this project as an important step toward creating a sustainable technology solution that expands access to critical resources, improves coordination of services, and helps individuals and families build stable, successful futures.
