Frederick Douglass Liberty Alliance (FDLA) is seeking a skilled WordPress volunteer to redesign and improve our website, making it more professional, user-friendly, and accessible. The website serves as the public face of our nonprofit, which focuses on workforce development, historic preservation, civic engagement, and economic empowerment.

We are looking for assistance with:

* Restoring and improving website navigation and menus.
* Improving the overall design and user experience.
* Optimizing pages for desktop and mobile devices.
* Creating clear calls-to-action for volunteers, partners, and donors.
* Improving page speed and WordPress performance.
* Reviewing Elementor settings and resolving layout issues.
* Providing recommendations for long-term website maintenance.
A stronger website will allow FDLA to better educate the public, recruit volunteers, build partnerships, and connect underserved communities with workforce development opportunities through initiatives such as the Empowerment Academy. The redesigned website will improve our ability to communicate our mission and expand our impact across Texas.
We already have an existing WordPress website, domain, hosting, and branding materials. Our organization has prepared written content, program information, photos, and organizational documents for use on the site. We will provide prompt feedback throughout the project and will be available to answer questions and test changes as they are completed.

Organization Mission

The Frederick Douglass Liberty Alliance is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities—including low-income individuals, formerly incarcerated persons, descendants of Freedmen, and individuals with disabilities. Our mission is to promote education and foster economic self-reliance by providing resources, support, and opportunities that enable individuals to overcome systemic barriers and achieve their full potential. Inspired by the enduring legacy of Frederick Douglass, we strive to create a society where freedom, justice, and equality are accessible to all.
