Update Presentations on Invisible Illnesses, Chronic Illnesses and Disabilities

Revise 2–3 existing slide decks to incorporate recent research, improve clarity, and make the content more engaging for college students. Volunteers will update slide text and references and adapt language for a student audience. Specific decks and source materials will be provided and discussed during interviews based on interest of volunteer.

Updated, research-backed, student-friendly presentations will strengthen our education program, increase awareness of invisible illnesses, reduce stigma, and provide clearer resources for students, providers, and communities. Volunteers will directly help make outreach to colleges more accurate, accessible, and compassionate.

We will provide the existing presentations and any available source lists, clarify which 2–3 decks each volunteer will update, and be available to review drafts and provide feedback. Details about formatting, tone, and timelines will be provided during volunteer interviews to set projects up for success.

Organization Mission

The mission of the Invisible Illness Awareness Network is to increase awareness about invisible illnesses, particularly through an easily adaptable education program designed for high schools, colleges, and other forms of higher education. Additionally, we aim to provide resources and support for the invisible illness community while fostering compassion and understanding between patients, providers, and the general population. By creating a safe and supportive environment for those living with invisible illnesses, the organization seeks to reduce the stigma associated with these conditions and Disabilities.
