About the Opportunity

As an organization, we are embarking on the exciting transition from a fiscal sponsorship to becoming an independent 501(c)3 organization. During this change, we are making a slight change to our name, which requires a fresh new logo.

Therefore, we are looking for a volunteer to work with us to create a fresh, updated logo for our organization to reflect this exciting growth and bring us into the future. The ideal volunteer will be interested in our work to end female genital mutilation/cutting in the U.S., committed to equity and racial and gender justice, and willing to take a creative spin on what we currently have. We are hoping to maintain some of our current identity, including our colors and some aspects of our branding, but updating it - so a volunteer who feels confident and equipped to take on that task is someone we would be excited to speak with.

As mentioned, our organization is at a pivotal stage of transitioning into an independent 501(c)3 organization after functioning under a fiscal sponsor for 6 years. As a result, we are using this opportunity to update our name, and logo as a result. This new logo will carry us into the next stage of our organization and will ideally live with us for years to come - being the visual representation of our organization in all of our marketing materials and branding, both online and physical swag. As a result, the impact of this project will live on for years!

We will share our current branding guidelines and graphics, including our color codes and current logo that requires updating. We will have dedicated staff to meet with you regularly to answer questions, share information and resources, or provide feedback. During the interview process, we'll ask to see your portfolio and examples of your graphic designs.
