Globe Aware is seeking an experienced technology strategist, AI specialist, or web architect to help us modernize the way we manage our website and digital content.

We currently rely on volunteer web developers to make many website updates, which can delay changes and increase our administrative burden. We would like expert guidance on practical ways to make our website easier for non-technical staff to maintain.

Specifically, we hope to:

Evaluate options for transitioning to a website platform that allows staff to make routine updates without relying on a web developer.
Explore AI-powered tools that could help draft and publish blog articles, volunteer stories, and program updates while maintaining appropriate human review.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive website and content management tasks.
Develop a practical roadmap for implementing these improvements over time.

Our goal is not simply to adopt new technology, but to create sustainable systems that reduce administrative costs and allow our small staff to focus more time and resources on our mission.
Being able to update our blog, add or delete dates and info without waiting for a volunteer webs developer means we are more quickly and efficiently communicating our programs with participating volunteers. By helping Globe Aware become more self-sufficient in managing our website and online communications, you will enable our small team to spend less time coordinating technical updates and more time supporting our international volunteer programs. Faster, easier website updates mean we can communicate new opportunities, recruit volunteers, and share the impact of our work more effectively. Every dollar we save on outside web development and every hour we save on administrative tasks can instead be invested in the communities we serve—whether that's helping build homes in Kenya, laying concrete floors for single mothers in Guatemala, providing wheelchairs to landmine survivors in Cambodia, supporting conservation projects in Zimbabwe, or expanding educational opportunities for children around the world. Your expertise will strengthen the systems behind our mission, allowing us to create an even greater impact for years to come.
We have a clear vision for what we hope to accomplish and are committed to implementing the volunteer's recommendations. Our team has documented our current website, workflows, and pain points, and we are prepared to provide access to existing systems, answer questions promptly, and meet regularly throughout the project. We recognize that our volunteer is donating valuable professional expertise, and we are committed to being organized, responsive, and respectful of their time. Any recommendations that improve our efficiency and reduce our reliance on outside technical support will be incorporated into our long-term operations whenever feasible. This will require only 2 humans to connect with on side of Globe Aware- myself and our retiring web developer from the past 25 years.

Organization Mission

Globe Aware's mission is to foster cultural understanding and sustainable community development through short-term international volunteer programs. For more than 20 years, we have connected thousands of volunteers with meaningful service projects in communities around the world, working alongside local partners on initiatives such as education, healthcare, environmental conservation, wildlife protection, food security, and community infrastructure. We believe the most meaningful travel leaves both the volunteer and the host community stronger. By creating opportunities for people to serve across cultures, we strive to build a more compassionate, informed, and connected world.
