I'm Rosa, founder of Stories of Immigrants — a young, immigrant-led nonprofit that uses storytelling to build empathy and advocate for immigrant families. This work is personal for me: as a DACA recipient, I know the uncertainty these families live with. In a short time we've grown a nationwide Ally Network and built partnerships with ESOL programs, community colleges, and faith leaders — but we've been growing on instinct, without a written plan to guide it.

I'm looking for a strategy-minded volunteer to help us build a practical 2-year strategic plan. Over the engagement, I'd love your help to:

Name our 2-year vision and 3–5 core priorities
Turn those priorities into goals we can actually measure and track
Sequence a simple roadmap, with our Ally Network and partnerships as the engine of growth
Leave us with a couple of lightweight templates so we can keep planning and stay accountable after the project ends

The end result I'm hoping for is a focused plan a lean team will genuinely use — not a document that sits in a drawer.
Right now our reach depends almost entirely on my energy and a growing group of committed allies. A clear 2-year plan changes that — it lets us make deliberate choices about where to focus, rally our team and volunteers around shared priorities, and speak confidently to funders and partners about where we're headed. Every bit of structure you help us build turns directly into capacity: more trainings delivered, more allies activated, and ultimately more immigrant families who feel seen, supported, and advocated for. You wouldn't just be shaping a plan — you'd be helping us reach the people who need this work most.
As founder, I'll be your main partner and available for regular check-ins throughout the ~6–8 week engagement, so you're never waiting on decisions. Before we start, I'll pull together everything you'll need — background on our mission and programs, an overview of our Ally Network and partnerships, and any goals or planning notes we've already sketched out. Because I lead the team directly, whatever we build together gets adopted right away: I'll own putting the plan into practice and reporting on it to our board and supporters.
