Free Brands creates entrepreneurship pathways for survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence, so they can build businesses and lasting economic freedom.

Our public directory of survivor-owned businesses runs on WordPress, and right now every listing runs through me. Survivors apply through a form, and I create and update their profiles by hand. It does not scale, and it means a survivor cannot update their own business hours, photos, or product links without emailing me first.

Our theme already has the infrastructure for members to register and manage their own listings. We just have not set it up.

We are looking for a WordPress developer to turn that functionality on and configure it well, so survivors can create an account, submit their own business listing, and edit their profile whenever they need to. We would love help making the signup as simple as possible and making sure the information we collect is secure, clean, and well-structured, since we are also connecting this to our CRM. We are open to your guidance on the best way to build this with what we already have.
Every hour I spend manually updating listings is an hour I am not spending growing the programs that put real dollars into survivor-owned businesses. More than that, a survivor who can manage their own listing owns their own storefront, updating their products, telling their story, running their business without waiting on me. That autonomy is the whole point of what we do. The system you build gives survivors control over how they show up, and it lets our directory grow well past what one person can maintain by hand.
We are ready to move quickly. As the founder, I manage our site directly and will be your single point of contact, which keeps feedback fast and consistent. I will share full access to our WordPress setup, our current application form and the fields we collect, and a clear picture of what survivors need to be able to do on their own. A separate volunteer is building our CRM workflows in parallel, so clean, well-structured data coming out of this is exactly what we need.
