My goal for this Taproot Project is to create a fully functional online course delivery system on our existing Wix website. All course content is already built (17 modules including six interactive HTML tools, written guides, and reference resources). We need a Wix/Velo developer to build the infrastructure: a student progress-tracking dashboard, Velo backend functions writing to a CMS database, member-gated module pages, and an automated certificate email on course completion. Estimated scope is 17–30 hours, well-suited to a 2–5 hour/week engagement over several weeks.
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by making free, high-quality research education accessible to students worldwide who would otherwise have no pathway into research. Research Girl serves 50,000+ students across 161 countries, 70% from underrepresented groups. This course is the most comprehensive free research methods resource we've ever built, and this infrastructure build is the single remaining step between a finished course and global student access. The volunteer's 17–30 hours of work will directly reach tens of thousands of students who cannot afford paid research training.
My team and I have prepared for this project by completing all course content in advance; nothing is left for the volunteer to create or source. We have a detailed written technical specification covering every deliverable, the CMS schema design, module list with IDs, effort estimates, and architectural decisions already made. We'll provide immediate Wix Collaborator (Editor) access to our live site, all HTML files and resources ready to embed, and a responsive point of contact throughout. The volunteer will never be blocked waiting on us.
