HFAC is seeking a skilled volunteer to identify 10–15 high-quality grant opportunities from private foundations and corporate funders that support workforce development, youth development, fatherhood, family strengthening, and digital workforce initiatives. The primary focus will be HFAC’s Strengthening Families and Communities (SFAC) workforce program and Viral 4 A Vision (V4V) digital workforce initiative.

Deliverables include a prioritized list of 10–15 funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, funding ranges, application deadlines, key application requirements, and a 12-month grant calendar with recommendations for future submissions. The volunteer will conduct research, evaluate funding fit, and provide actionable recommendations that position HFAC for long-term funding success.
This project will help HFAC strengthen its ability to secure sustainable funding for workforce development, pre-apprenticeship, youth development, fatherhood, family strengthening, and digital workforce initiatives. The volunteer’s research will provide a prioritized funding roadmap that allows our team to focus on the most promising opportunities, expand access to education and career pathways, and serve more children, youth, fathers, and families across Maryland. By building our long-term grant strategy, this project will increase our organizational capacity and help create lasting opportunities for the communities we serve.
HFAC has program descriptions, organizational documents, budgets, and supporting materials prepared for the volunteer. We have identified our highest-priority funding needs and narrowed the project scope to ensure it is realistic and achievable. Throughout the engagement, our team will be available to answer questions, provide timely feedback, review interim findings, and collaborate on refining recommendations. The volunteer’s research and grant calendar will become part of HFAC’s long-term funding strategy, supporting future grant applications and sustainable program growth.
